2027: North Central Coalition Gives Conditions to Support Tinubu

A political coalition from Nigeria’s North Central region has laid out specific conditions for supporting President Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid in 2027. The group, made up of regional political and civil society leaders, stated that its support will depend on clear commitments from the president on development and inclusion.

During a press briefing, the coalition emphasized the need for better infrastructure, equitable political appointments, and increased federal presence in North Central states. They criticized what they described as long-standing neglect of the region, demanding that Tinubu demonstrate concrete steps to address these concerns before earning their backing.

The group also called for security improvements, especially in rural areas facing banditry and communal clashes. According to them, residents of the region have endured insecurity for too long without meaningful government intervention.

The coalition warned that without tangible progress and fulfilled promises, the region would reconsider its political alignment in 2027. Leaders urged Tinubu to engage more directly with grassroots stakeholders across the zone.

Political analysts believe the North Central region could play a decisive role in the next election, making the coalition’s stance critical for any serious presidential contender.
