From Okwe Obi, Abuja
Ahead of the 2027 general polls, some youths under the banner of OBO Youth Movement has insisted that the Cross River North Senatorial seat must return to the Federal Constituency of Obanliku, Obudu, and Bekwarra axis.
The senator representing the senatorial district, Jarigbe Agom Jarigbe of the People’s Democratic Republic (PDP), is from Ogoja Local Government Area.

Its Director General, Imbufe Solomon, stated this when he led a delegation to the member representing Obanliku/Obudu/Bekwarra Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Peter Akpanke, yesterday in Abuja.
He claimed that their main goal was to ensure fair political representation, specifically by calling for the Cross River North Senatorial seat to return to the OBO Federal Constituency.
Also, he said the visit was to share their vision and advocacy plans ahead of the 2027 general elections.
In his response, Akpanke thanked the group for their visit and praised their unity and forward-thinking approach.
He said: “I truly value your thoughtful and mature approach to this issue,” he said.
“While my focus remains on my current mandate, I welcome this discussion and applaud your proactive efforts for our constituency’s future.”
He urged the youth to stay peaceful, strategic, and united in their push for fairness and development across Cross River North.
Also, Chairman, Central Planning Committee, Paul Anyin, claimed that by 2027, the Ogoja/Yala Federal Constituency, with just two local government areas, would have held the seat for 20 of the last 28 years, adding that the OBO Federal Constituency, which includes Obanliku, Obudu, and Bekwarra, had only held it for eight years.
