“Respect for our national symbols is a must. In as much as you are within the territory of Nigeria, you have to respect our national flag.
“We should respect our flag, our currency and also have passion for our national anthem and not move while the anthem is on.
“Our symbols should be respected and given the dignity they deserve. NOA will continue to advocate for respect for our values,” he said.
He said the NOA will embark on massive campaigns and sanctions will be meted out to parastatals that disrespect national symbols, particularly the flag.
The state coordinator also decried the dangerous sign-out practices by students, saying instead of celebrating academic activity with dignity, students engage in immoral acts.
He disclosed that this practice is bad and the agency is all out to intensify engagements that promote values of propriety and build a Nigeria of our dreams.
In his speech, the Director General of the Agency, Mallam Lanre Issa-Onilu, said the nationwide campaign will be taken to all the states and the 774 local governments in the country.
The DG, whose speech was delivered by Tessy Nnalue, Director Community Safety, Awareness and Compliance, said the campaign has five thematic areas.
He also enumerated several programmes and activities initiated by the Federal Government under the Renewed Hope Agenda and tasked Nigerians to key into them.
