Organisers of the Africa Creative Market (ACM) have announced that its 2025 edition will focus on growing creative exports and attracting global investment into the region’s creative economy.
Delivered by Ascend Studios Foundation, ACM has become a continental benchmark for innovation, trade, and collaboration across Africa’s diverse creative sectors. Themed Creative Bridge, the 2025 edition aims to provide African creators with access to international markets, financing opportunities, and strategic industry linkages. Building on the momentum from previous editions, this year’s gathering will prioritise economic outcomes for professionals across film, fashion, music, gaming, photography, art, dance, and sports.
Speaking on the vision behind the theme, the Convener, Dr. Inya Lawal, stated, “It’s a blueprint for Africa’s creative future. This year, we are intentionally connecting the dots between talent and trade, providing the tools, insights, and exposure that creatives need to thrive in a fast-changing global landscape.”
Set to hold in September in Lagos, the event will feature industry forums, investment roundtables, and policy dialogues, all designed to create pathways for African creatives to scale their work and attract cross-border funding. Data, innovation, and export readiness will be central themes throughout the four-day programme.
In recent years, ACM has emerged as a notable platform for addressing the structural challenges facing Africa’s creative industries, particularly around visibility, access to finance, and collaboration with international markets.
The previous edition highlighted how technology was transforming content production and distribution, with sessions led by both African innovators and global players.
Lawal noted that ACM 2025 is expected to deepen these conversations, with structured engagements that bring together creators, investors, policymakers, and development partners. “It will provide a more deliberate framework for trade partnerships and economic exchange, reinforcing ACM’s role as a convening point for continental and international cooperation.” Participants will include a mix of emerging and established talent, alongside institutional investors and government stakeholders.
