The remains of the late Awujale and Paramount Ruler of Ijebuland, Oba Sikiru Kayode Adetona, will be buried today, a statement signed by the Secretary to the Ogun State Government, Tokunbo Talabi, has said.
Oba Adetona died on Sunday, July 13, 2025, in Lagos at the age of 91. He reigned for over sixty years, ascending to his forebears’ throne in 1960 at the age of 26.
The monarch will be laid to rest at his Ogbagba Court, Igbeba, Ijebu-Ode, Ogun State, at exactly 4 pm, according to Islamic rites, the statement added.
In the statement, the Ogun SSG urged residents of the state to remember the families of the revered monarch in their prayers.
