Bode George Slams Tinubu Over Trip to France

Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chieftain Bode George has criticized President Bola Tinubu for traveling to France, questioning the necessity of the trip amid pressing national issues. George accused Tinubu of prioritizing foreign visits over addressing Nigeria’s economic and security challenges.

In a statement, George expressed frustration over what he described as the president’s frequent travels, arguing that the country requires focused leadership to tackle inflation, unemployment, and insecurity. He urged Tinubu to remain in Nigeria and take direct action to solve the nation’s problems.

The presidency, however, defended Tinubu’s trip, stating that it was for diplomatic and economic engagements beneficial to Nigeria. Officials argue that foreign visits strengthen international partnerships and attract investments.

Despite the justification, George and other critics maintain that Tinubu should concentrate on internal governance. His remarks add to growing debates over the administration’s approach to leadership and economic recovery.
