Senator representing Delta Central Senatorial District, Ede Dafinone has expressed profound grief following the passing of for President Muhammadu Buhari, saying he will be remembered for his hard stance against corruption.
In a heartfelt statement released on Sunday, Dafinone recalled Buhari’s distinguished service to the nation, first as Military Head of State from 1983 to 1985, and later as a democratically elected President from 2015 to 2023.
“President Buhari’s legacy will be remembered for his unwavering stance against corruption, his dedication to national security, and his commitment to infrastructure development,” he said.
“Above all, he stood for discipline, integrity, and the enduring unity of our country.”
The senator emphasised that while the nation mourns, it also celebrates a life marked by patriotism, courage, and sacrifice. “May his legacy continue to inspire current and future generations of leaders,” he added.
On behalf of the people of Delta Central, Dafinone extended his heartfelt condolences to the Buhari family, the government and people of Katsina State, and all Nigerians.
“May his soul rest in perfect peace,” he concluded.
