Wife of the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) and National President of Defence and Police Officers’ Wives Association (DEPOWA), Mrs Oghogho Musa has launched a special support programme for wounded troops and children of fallen heroes.
Mrs Musa while launching the Thank You to Our Troops” Campaign at the Nigerian Army 7 Division Hospital in Maiduguri yesterday, said she is raising huge voices for wounded military troops who have sacrificed parts of their bodies and health to make Nigerians and people of the Northeast enjoy freedom from terrorists.

She said her visit to the injured soldiers on the hospital beds revealed the huge sacrifice made by them.
“I looked into the eyes of young men who have given parts of their bodies to defend this country, yet still carried an unshakable resolve to return to duty if called upon,” she disclosed.
While reflecting on her encounter with the injured troops in the hospital, the DEPOWA president suddenly broke down in tears. She said the soldiers never bargained to be restricted to the hospital bed, but the call of duty made it so. She explained that the campaign planned for 12 months, is expected to take message of gratitude to all states amd communities.
“We will collect and amplify messages of thanks from Nigerians at home and abroad — through letters, videos, and digital platforms,” she said.
She said ,” the Campaign, is a national movement of gratitude, solidarity, and recognition for the men and women of the nation Armed Forces for defending the country and people.
“ DEPOWA presently run a special institution in Abuja, established to support the children of troops that died in battlefields.
