Aliko Dangote University of Science and Technology, Wudil, Kano, has put a stop to a plan by a group of female students to organise a ‘Fake Pregnancy Day’.
Abdullahi Datti Abdullahi, Deputy Dean, Information and Public Relations Unit of the University, confirmed the report in a statement to the media.
A circular dated Tuesday, August 13, 2025, and issued by the Dean, Student Affairs Division, Abdulkadir Muhammad Danbazau, explained that the “Fake Pregnancy Day” event was alien to the University and was neither authorised nor approved by the University management.
The statement stressed that the event was a violation of its student conduct code and stood sharply opposed to the values and standards of the University.
“The University views this matter with utmost seriousness and will go to any extent to protect its reputation,” said the circular.
The statement disclosed that the organisers of the event were already identified and had been referred to the Disciplinary Committee for further action.
“We implore all students to act as responsible ambassadors of the University and seek proper authorisation for all activities,” Danbazau concluded.
