The African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Gombe State has expelled a member, Nafiu Bala, and removed three senior officials from their positions over alleged indiscipline and anti-party activities.
The announcement was made by the State Chairman of the ADC, Malam Auwal Abba Barde, during a press briefing in Gombe. He said the action followed recommendations by party disciplinary committees after weeks of investigation into the conduct of the affected members.

Barde explained that Nafiu Bala, who recently declared himself as the National Chairman of the ADC, was expelled by the Nasarawo Ward Disciplinary Committee in Gombe LGA, for gross misconduct, factionalization, and misrepresentation of the party’s leadership. He said Bala had been invited personally and through a national newspaper publication to defend himself but failed to appear before the committee.
“By parading himself as the National Chairman of the ADC, Nafiu Bala created confusion and division within our party. Such actions undermine our unity and progress,” Barde stated.
He further disclosed that in addition, the State Executive Committee ratified the removal of the State Deputy Chairman, Nasiru Lawan; the State Secretary, Danladi Ya’u; and the State Youth Leader, Abdulkadir Sa’idu, popularly known as Digiri.
The chairman stressed that the disciplinary measures were necessary to send a clear message that disloyalty and sabotage would not be tolerated. He assured members that the ADC remained united and focused as it prepared for the 2027 general elections.
“As the political drums beat louder ahead of 2027, the ADC is determined to secure more seats in Gombe State and beyond. These incidents are setbacks, but they will not break us,” Barde added.
