Enugu: Onuchukwu appointed registrar Federal Polytechnic Ohodo

The former Acting Registrar of the Federal Polytechnic, Oko, Anambra State, Mr Obini Onuchukwu, has been appointed the substantive Registrar, Federal Polytechnic, Ohodo, Enugu State.

Before his latest appointment, Onuchukwu was the immediate past Acting Registrar, Federal Polytechnic, Oko, Anambra State.

He also served as Deputy Registrar in charge of public relations and protocol of the polytechnic for 10 years.

Onuchukwu started his career as a journalist with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) and was elected the Chairman Correspondents Chapel, Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Anambra Counci,l as a result of his pragmatic and sterling leadership qualities.

Meanwhile, the Correspondents’ Chapel of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Anambra State Council, has congratulated Mr Obini Onuchukwu on his appointment as the Registrar of the Federal Polytechnic, Ohodo, Enugu State.

In a statement on Tuesday signed by its Chairman, Chuks Ilozue, and Secretary, Lucy Osuizigbo-Okechukwu, the Chapel described Onuchukwu’s appointment as “well-deserved,” noting that it was a recognition of his years of dedication, professional integrity, and outstanding contributions to academic and administrative development.

The journalists expressed confidence that Onuchukwu’s wealth of experience, foresight, and passion for excellence would enhance growth and bring greater prestige to the Federal Polytechnic, Ohodo.

“The Correspondents’ Chapel takes pride in associating with visionary leaders such as yourself. We look forward to a continued partnership in promoting transparency, good governance, and quality education through responsible journalism,” the statement read.

The Chapel further wished the Registrar a successful tenure, marked by innovation, impact, and progress.

Onuchukwu, who has held several key academic and administrative roles, is expected to play a critical role in building and strengthening the institutional framework of the Polytechnic, which is one of the new federal institutions established to expand access to tertiary education in Nigeria.
