Fadojoe calls for 2027 coalition of young Nigerian politicians

From Noah Ebije, Kaduna

Former Presidential Aspirant of the Labour Party (LP) Faduri Oluwadare Joseph has called for a coalition of political parties with fresh, young politicians to lead Nigeria to prosperity in the 2027 general elections.

In a statement issued on Wednesday, June 25, in Kaduna, Joseph, also known as Fadojoe, warned that it would be politically retrogressive for Nigeria if old-generation politicians form alliances to seize power in 2027.

“What we need now is not another group of old, selfish, greedy men forming alliances for personal survival. What Nigeria truly needs is a genuine people’s party coalition, a younger generation of leaders, a party that will unite the country, build party structures across the country, mobilise fresh minds with clear visions, and present candidates with integrity, compassion, and patriotism with a heart of service,” he said.

Joseph, the founder of the Rescue Movement for a New Nigeria, expressed dismay at the state of the nation, stating: “My fellow Nigerians, both home and abroad, our nation Nigeria is at a breaking point. For so long, we have watched a handful of political elites destroy the future of this great nation through greed, selfishness, corruption, and a total lack of vision and ideology.

“These are the same politicians who have looted our national resources, enriched themselves while our youth roam jobless. They turned Nigeria into a land of hardship, insecurity, oppression, and rising hopelessness. But here they come again, wearing new clothes, a new party, singing old songs by defecting or forming a selfish coalition.”

He cautioned against being deceived by recycled politicians who switch parties to preserve power. “In recent times, some of these very politicians who have wrecked Nigeria’s economy and stolen our future, our wealth, our peace, are now regrouping under different names and political platforms. Don’t let us be fooled. A thief in a new garment is still a thief. The tragedy will not be in their deception, but in how we accept them to deceive us again. We have been deceived for so long, but we will not be deceived again in 2027.”

Joseph accused these politicians of forming coalitions not for the people’s benefit but to maintain control over a broken system. “These selfish politicians have brought Nigeria to her knees. They are trying to repackage themselves as ‘new forces’ and ‘saviours’ of democracy. But let’s be honest, it’s apparently clear from what we are experiencing in Nigeria that they are the architects of our suffering. These recycled politicians are moving from party to party like migratory birds, not to build Nigeria, but to preserve their access to power on how to loot our resources once again.

“Their coalition is not for the good of the people, but for their desperate alliance to keep control of a broken system they created to cover their crimes. Some of them are old enough to be a great-great-grandfather, but they want to die in Aso Rock. Retirement age is 60 or 65 in any nation, but when you see a 65-year-old and above fighting for a job again, you wonder what they are looking for. Nigerians must ask them in 2027 what they are looking for in Aso Rock.”

He urged Nigerians to reject these leaders and embrace a new generation of leadership. “Enough is enough. We must not allow it. The greatest mistake Nigerians can make in the coming general elections is to fall for this dangerous trap: accepting political defectors and nation destroyers simply because they are now under a new party umbrella. Doing so will not only destroy the next four years, but it may also destroy the future of this nation for generations to come.

“We cannot afford it. It’s time for Nigerians, especially the youths, the workers, the market women, the artisans, and the oppressed, the ordinary Nigerians, to open their eyes. The power belongs to the people, not these politicians who have failed our nation for so long. The masses are not just voters; they are the real deciders of this nation’s future.”

Joseph called for grassroots mobilisation to support young, honest, and competent leaders. “My fellow Nigerians, let us come together. Let us take over party platforms from the grassroots. Let us identify young, honest, and competent Nigerians and push them forward. Let us make our votes count, not for money, not for tribe, not for religion, but for a better and greater Nigeria, which we can all be proud of.

“The time of sitting on the sidelines is over. The oppressed must become the organisers. We must get involved in politics. We must defend our democracy, not with violence but with wisdom, unity, conviction, and the power to vote. New-blood leadership in politics is not a luxury; it is a necessity we need that will alleviate our suffering, foster development, increase the employment rate, bring more empowerment, increase our agricultural productivity, ameliorate corruption, secure people’s lives and property.”
