According to his friends, the killing of their friend, popularly known as Dayo occurred right in front of them.

Oladayo in company with his friends Mr. Dayo and Okuboyejo Omolade Ayomide, who were colleagues had gone to eat, when they were accosted by policemen from Moore Division, Ile Ife,Osun State.

Dayo and Ayomide, who witnessed the sad scene, said that as they were trekking, they were accosted by two police officers, who ordered them to lie down on the ground. According to them ,without warning or provocation, one of the officers shot Oladayo, leaving him in the pool of his blood .

According to them, the officers’ subsequent actions were nothing short of appalling, as they attempted to cover up the crime scene by washing away Oladayo’s blood and placing tires over the spot.

The surviving friends were left in shock, forced to witness the horrific event and then taken to the hospital, where Oladayo was confirmed dead and his body was deposited in the mortuary. The police officers’ priorities were disturbingly skewed, as they prioritized washing their car over showing any semblance of remorse for their actions.

The family and friends of Ezekiel are now left to pick up the pieces, seeking justice for a life cut short by police brutality.

According to a family member, who spoke on the condition of anonymity as he was not comfortable mentioning his name,”We urge the authorities to take immediate action, conducting a thorough investigation and ensuring that the officer responsible for this heinous act is brought to justice. His memory deserves to be honored through accountability.

” We want them to fish out the trigger happy police officer that fired the unnecessary and unprovoked shot that killed Oludayo and bring him to justice and also to take steps to ameliorate the hardship now suffered by the family due to his denise.”

The family lawyer Ekwedike Tochi of Messiah Associates Ilorin, said that the policemen asked the deceased and friends to lie down on the ground and they obyed,” While they were there on the ground, one of the policeman aimed at the back of Oludayo’s head and pulled his trigger. The bullet passed through his head and entered deep into the ground.”

His friends were lucky. The first shooting got the attention of some passersby and they had to quickly hurry out of the place. They took the lifeless body of Oladayo to OAUTH, Ile-Ife. It is still there. Then , took the other boys to Moore police division ,where they later allowed them go after three hours.

” We have gone to the state Command , to bare our minds to the Commissioner of police to wade into the matter. He pleaded with us to exercise patience as he would do the needful and that he would get back to us.

” We are making a passionate appeal the IGP to wade into the matter and bring the policemen ,who sent the young man to his early grave. Sir, this case should not be swept under the carpet. We need justt and compensation to his death”.

In a separate petitions to the IGP and Police Service Commission ( PSC) Messiah Associates and solicitors ,stated that,”

We are solicitors to Mrs Temitope Abioye of Oke Ola, Ila Orogunm ,Osun state, on her mandate and instruction, we write to your highly respected office.
