From Fred Ezeh, Abuja
The Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (FCCPC) has sealed a visa application centre in Abuja for alleged extortion of applicants.
The visa centre, located at Metro Plaza, Central Business District, Abuja, was said to have been engaged in unfriendly activities against applicants.
An official of the FCCPC said the management of the visa centre had been invited repeatedly to explain issues concerning extortion activities against applicants, but they never responded to the summons.
Meanwhile, several applicants and officials of the centre have been evacuated, and the premises sealed, perhaps temporarily.
