Corporate leaders, captains of industries and ministers of some critical sectors will cross-pollinate and fertilize ideas that would catapult Nigeria’s dwindling economy to a progressive height. The discourse will take place at the annual Directors’ conference of Chartered Institute of Directors (CIoD) Nigeria, slated for Wednesday 22nd and Thursday 23rd of October in Abuja.
With the theme: “Leading through change: Building Sustainable and Inclusive Enterprises”, administrative, economic and management experts from different sectors would do justice to topical issues affecting Nigeria, given the unprecedented hardship in the country.
The Institute’s President/Chairman of the Governing Council, Otunba Oyebanji, expressed optimism over the outcome of the discourse, noting that with the caliber of state actors attending the conference, Nigeria can be certain to see a positive change thereafter.
“It is a pivotal platform for dialogue and collaboration among stakeholders from various sectors, directors, entrepreneurs, policymakers, and thought leaders to address the pressing issues facing our economy. The traditional business models that sustained us for generations are being challenged, and public trust, the bedrock of our profession, is constantly under scrutiny” he said.
To deepen discourse, he added that there would be a ‘Business Meets Government Dinner’, a section conscientiously designed to put heads together for the betterment of Nigerians. “Every section means a lot to us, all is for the good of our economy” he assured.
Similarly, the Chairman, National Organising Committee (NOC), Otunba Bimbo Ashiru, stressed: “our themes over the years demonstrate our conviction that governance is not just about boardroom efficiency, but about how enterprises can strengthen Nigeria’s economy, foster inclusivity, and secure our collective future.
“Leaders must survive change, lead through it, and build enterprises that are sustainable, innovative, and inclusive. This is how we contribute as directors and leaders to the urgent task of nation -building. The Institute reaffirms its role as a partner in Nigeria’s long-term economic transformation” she added.
Special guest of honour, president Bola Ahmed Tinubu, would declare the section open; the Keynote Speaker is Dr. Kola Adesina, Managing Director, Sahara Power Group; Shamsuddeen Usman, Chairman, Ministry of Finance Incorporated, is the chairman of the event. Dr. Tunji Alausa, Minister of Education; Mr. Adedotun Sulaiman, former Chairman of Financial Reporting Council; Aisha Rimi, Executive Secretary/CEO, Nigerian Investment Promotion Commission, would be there for knowledge sharing.
