In demonstration of its compassion and community care goals, the Charity Ayo Foundation recently held a successful free medical outreach under its flagship program, the BeinHealth Initiative in Lagos.

The event, which took place at the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) in the Ladi Lak area of Bariga, Lagos, provided vital healthcare services to hundreds of residents across the local community.

This initiative, fuelled by a commitment to humanity, highlights the foundation’s mission to improve healthcare access for underserved populations in Nigeria without regard to background or creed.

Beneficiaries engaged in various activities to promote wellness and prevent disease, including medical consultations, BMI assessments, blood pressure tests, blood sugar screenings, urinalysis, and the distribution of free medications.

In her opening address, Miss Charity Ayooluwa Olaifa, the visionary founder of the Foundation, urged the government and Nigerians to prioritise health as the foundation of a thriving society because a healthy community leads to prosperity.

Olaifa stated that the foundation operates independently of religious or political affiliations, guided solely by the love of Christ and a passion for serving those in need.

She said: “We are here because every life matters, and no one should be denied quality healthcare because of their circumstances.

“The BeinHealth Initiative was more than a medical outreach; it was a holistic experience that blended education, exercise, and empathy’.

The day began with an energising aerobics session, where participants laughed and moved together, breaking the ice and fostering a sense of community.

This was followed by medical sensitisation talks, where healthcare professionals educated attendees on preventive measures for common ailments, empowering them to take charge of their well-being.

One elderly woman who discovered her high blood pressure and received immediate medication said, “I’ve never had a doctor explain things to me so clearly. This is a blessing I won’t forget.”
