Osun East Senator Francis Fadahunsi has assured that hardship will soon disappear in Nigeria with the commitment of people to farming this year.
Speaking with newsmen in his hometown, Ilase-Ijesa, Obokun Local Government, Osun State, on Tuesday, during the mobilisation of his constituents for voters’ registration, Fadahunsi said the best solution to the current hardship is for people to go into farming.
The senator, who described President Bola Tinubu as a listening leader, disclosed that he had encouraged governors to invest in the rural areas, saying that the governors must act fast to avoid losing their credibility.

“Tinubu is a listening person, and the current hardship will go down, but I will want our people to embrace farming.
“I am farming; everybody should farm. If there is no hunger, automatically, we will be thinking right. The development is coming.
“Automatically, before the end of this year, things will go down. Just recently, when we went for the NEC meeting, he advised the governors to go deep into the local areas and invest more. That’s an executive order, and I am very sure any governor who does not do that will lose his credibility because of the quantum of money being allocated to them.
“So it is left to them. The federal government cannot do it alone, and whatever they have given to us as regards funds and food items, we are distributing. By the next two weeks, you will see us distributing rice again, and this is almost harvest season, we must pile whatever we have till the dry season and farming season.
“So I advise everybody to embrace farming, no matter how little it might be, and let the food production rise, so prices can come down,” Fadahunsi said.
Noting that he has distributed to farmers in his constituency, Fadahunsi said, “The hardship must come down before the end of the year. That is what I can assure you.”
