The 2025 Ballon D’Or winner, Ousmane Dembele has heaped praise on first runner-up, Lamine Yamal.
The France and Paris Saint-Germain forward clinched the coveted prize before football royalty at a ceremony held at the Theatre du Chatelet in Paris, France, on Monday night.
In his acceptance speech, the 28-year-old praised Yamal’s footballing prowess, saying the 18-year-old has what it takes to claim the prize many times in the future.
He said, “Lamine Yamal is an exceptional young man. A wonderful player with great maturity. I believe he will win several Ballon d’Or awards.”
Yamal, who helped Barcelona claim a domestic treble, won the Kopa Trophy on the night, becoming the first player to win it twice.
Portugal and PSG’s Vitinha was third in the Ballon D’Or ranking followed by Egypt and Liverpool’s Mo Salah and Brazil and Barcelona’s Raphinha.
