Ibadan Discourse Group hails Olagunju’s induction into Nigerian Academy of Letters

The Ibadan Discourse Group (IDG), a coalition of distinguished personalities from the Southwest region, has extended its heartfelt congratulations to acclaimed journalist and writer, Dr. Lasisi Olagunju, following his recent induction as a Fellow of the Nigerian Academy of Letters.

Dr. Olagunju, who serves as Editor of the Nigerian Tribune on Saturday, is also a prominent member of the Ibadan Discourse Group.

In a statement issued by the group’s Coordinator, Clement Ige, the organisation praised his outstanding contributions to the field of journalism, describing him as a source of pride for the Tribune and the journalism profession at large.

“We felicitate with one of us, Dr. Lasisi Olagunju, on his election as a Fellow of the Nigerian Academy of Letters.

Dr. Olagunju deserves this fellowship as a deep thinker and thoroughbred, award-winning journalist who constantly makes society proud in his writings,” the release said.

The group also acknowledged his multifaceted intellectual strengths, emphasising his role as a voice of reason in public discourse.

“As a first-class researcher, philosopher and people’s columnist, we are proud of Dr. Olagunju for this achievement. We pray for more as he improves to serve society better,” the release added.
