Nigeria’s foremost steel fabrication and construction company, Iron Products Industries Ltd (IPI) has assured that it will as a matter of policy continue to adhere strictly to the high quality management system that earned its operations the ISO 9001:2015 certification.
IPI Marketing and Sales Manager, Umar Musa gave the assurance at the recent Nigeria Auto Industry Summit in Lagos where his company was cited by the Standards Organisation of Nigeria (SON) as a steel structures fabrication and construction company that complies with high quality standards in its steel works, hence the NIS ISO 9001:2015.

Addressing the summit participants, Engr. Sodiq Abayomi Danmola, Head of SON Mechanical Testing Laboratory, had singled out Iron Products Industries, located in the heart of Ikotun, Lagos, for mention as a stickler to high quality standards.
Reacting to the favourable reference to IPI in the SON presentation, Musa disclosed that the company worked very hard to get the certification in December, 2023, stating that more efforts are being put in to sustain the high quality standards that have endeared it to a long list of corporate clients.
He said that apart from constructing general steel structures which is IPI’s core area, the company also assembles vehicles, constructs trucks/trailers, as well as builds sundry box bodies and refrigerated boxed bodies on light and heavy duty trucks – all of which meet the relevant international standards.

The Marketing & Sales Manager disclosed that the IPI ceaselessly ensures an effective implementation of measurable quality objectives at relevant levels and functions to track organisational performances and for overall attainment of the objectives of the Company Quality Policy.as approved by the management.
A steelwork manufacturer and leader in steel fabrication, especially the construction of light and heavy duty truck bodies, IPI has over the past 50 years diversified into various sectors and executed an array of quality products to hundreds of clients across the country.
Speaking on the sidelines of the summit, Musa disclosed that Iron Products Industries has the ability to manufacture all types of tanks, such as square tanks, cylindrical, underground, double wall, petroleum and gas tanks.

He explained that the scope of the ISO certification covered steel fabrication and marketing of quality vehicle body, tank construction, sound proof steel structures, automobile assembling, as well as mechanical, civil and structural support services rendered to the oil and gas downstream sector.
The Marketing Manager informed The Sun that IPI has in place an internal mechanism that ensures periodic review and continual improvement of all business related processes in line with the requirements of NIS ISO 9001:2015 quality management system in order to achieve its strategic goals;
As the leading trailer manufacturer in Nigeria, It is estimated that IPI commands about 80 percent share in the trailer market in the country.
According to Musa, companies like Coca-Cola, Nigerian Breweries, Guinness, Flour Mills and Nestle, as well as transportation, distribution and logistics companies, have relied on IPI’s various types of trailers for over 40 years.
“We produce all types of trailers, such as beverage carriers, drop side / drop tails, sided trailers, flat beds, curtain sided and other specialized bodies. And both the hundreds of corporate users and standards bodies have always thumbed up for us for their high quality.”
Industry watchers estimate that the company has as much as 80 percent of specialised body applications, including simple box bodies, fire trucks,ambulances, refuse collectors, staff buses, mobile stages, mobile ATMs, septic carrier, beverage carriers, police patrol, bullion vans, towing applications, and drop side with cranes,
