From Lateef Dada, Osogbo
A coalition of Civil Society Organisations on Thursday stormed major streets in Osogbo, Osun State, in a rally for the remembrance of the late Moshood Kashimawo Olawale (MKO) Abiola.
The CSOs had converged on Ayetoro Junction and later barricaded the popular Olaiya Junction for about an hour, where they addressed residents.
The Chairman of Osun Civil Societies Coalition, Comrade Waheed Lawal, called on the federal government to implement the policies of the late Abiola and ensure that all entitlements given to former presidents are given to his family as a recognised president.

He also demanded compensation for those who lost their lives and those who were detained for the struggle.
Speaking with newsmen, Wole Oladapo called on President Bola Tinubu to work towards making lives bearable for Nigerians by ensuring good living, security of lives and properties, and good economic development.
“We strongly make a demand to President Bola Tinubu to jettison that idea of 5% tax that will bring another hardship on Nigerians.
“We are saying that inflation should be arrested now via sound economic policies, via agricultural development targeted at ward farmers in Nigeria.
“We are making demands that Nigeria should be able to speak freely and go to sleep without thinking that they will be arrested the next day,” Oladapo added.
