“This recognition is a humbling reminder of a journey that was not walked alone. It belongs just as much to the brave and selfless officers of LASTMA, past and present, who stood on the frontline to restore order and discipline on our roads,”he said.
Oyedokun paid tribute to the agency’s pioneer General Manager, the late Mr. Adegboyega Coker, whose foundational work under the administration of then-Governor Bola Ahmed Tinubu helped shape LASTMA into what it is today.
He also honoured the memory of officers who lost their lives or suffered injuries while enforcing traffic laws, calling on the public never to forget their sacrifices.
“To those who endured; who stood firm through the challenges, the insults, and the dangers and who continue to serve with integrity and commitment, I salute your resilience,” he said.
Expressing special thanks to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, who appointed him as LASTMA General Manager without prior acquaintance, Oyedokun acknowledged the critical role that leadership and trust played in his career.
“I remain forever proud to have contributed to a vision that continues to transform traffic management in Lagos and across Nigeria,” he said.
