Movie lovers nationwide can look forward to a joyful blend of chaos, laughter and heartfelt life lessons as hilarious family dramedy, Grandpa Must Obey, hits cinemas via FilmOne Entertainment on November 21, 2025.

Unveiled recently, the poster bursts with bold colours and playful energy, perfectly capturing the film’s blend of humour, love and the ever-relatable clash between generations.

At the film’s centre is veteran Nollywood actor, Kanayo O. Kanayo (KOK), playing a grumpy yet endearing 70-year-old grandfather coping with grief.

Thrust into babysitting his two mischievous grandchildren, grandpa finds himself in a comedic tug-of-war filled with pranks, laughter and unexpected moments of tenderness. What begins as a battle of wills gradually turns into a touching story about family, forgiveness and rediscovering joy after loss.

Directed by Chibuzor Afurobi and penned by Saviour Kings Bob, Grandpa Must Obey promises to resonate with audiences across ages, weaving heartfelt emotion with laugh-out-loud comedy.

The producer, Uche Okocha of Trino Motion Pictures, said of the movie: “We wanted to tell a story that feels deeply Nigerian but universally human – one that celebrates family, resilience, and the small moments that make life beautiful.”

The cast brings together Nollywood’s finest, KOK, alongside fast-rising talents like Darasimi Nadi and Fiyin Asenuga, who shine with youthful comedic brilliance, while Yvonne Jegede and Bimbo Akintola add emotional depth, enriching the multi-generational tale.
