Leicester agrees £8.5m fee for Ndidi

• Nigerian to earn €4 million annually     •Medical booked for today

Leicester City have agreed a fee with Besiktas for Super Eagles midfielder Wilfred Ndidi, worth around £8.5m.

Ndidi has attracted interest from a number of clubs in the Premier League and Europe, including Everton, Fenerbahce and two clubs in the Bundesliga, after his buy-out clause reduced following Leicester’s relegation.

But Besiktas manager Ole Gunnar Solksjaer has convinced the midfielder his future lies in Turkey.

Ndidi who arrives in Istanbul is expected to undergo a medical on Thursday and then sign.

The black-and-whites will also pay the Nigerian footballer an annual salary of nearly 4 million euros.

Recall La Liga side Real Betis was also interested in the 28-year-old midfielder.

The Spanish club submitted an offer for Ndidi, but could not reach an agreement with Leicester City on a transfer fee.

Following these developments, Real Betis withdrew from the transfer.
