The Izzi High Court, Abakaliki , Ebonyi State capital has sentenced a 30 years old man to death by hanging for killing 18 years old SS2 student lover after revealing their sexual intercourse that resulted in the deceased having problems in the anus.
The convict, Boniface Edigbo killed the deceased, Ogbonna Joshua on May 23, 2023 ,by poising him in a hotel after their last intercourse in the night of 22nd May that year.

The deceased until his death, was a student of community secondary school, Amachi in Izzi Local Government Area of the state
Edigbo was sentenced to death by hanging for the crime last weekend. He was having relationship with the boy which started in 2021.
In 2023, they had a covenant that they would not reveal the relationship to anybody.
But when the deceased starred having problems in the anus, he reported it to the principal of the school and some students and the matter became public. The defendant ,then lured the boy to Edigbo guest house where they slept all through the night of May, 2023.
In the morning of 23rd, he brought out a fanta drink and snippet insecticide and added the sniper into the fanta drink and gave the boy and the boy drank it and died.
When the boy died, he left the hotel and went and reported the matter to a woman and explained to her that he didn’t want to kill the boy if not that he revealed their homosexual relationship to people.
The woman told him to wait for her to get some money for him so that he woild leave the state, but went and reported the incident to the youth of the community, who apprehended him and carried him back to the Edigbo guest house where they met the boy in room 006 lof the hotel ying lifeless.
The trial Judge, Justice Ruth Okeh found Boniface Abraham Edigbo guilty of the offence and sentenced him to death by having.
The prosecuting counsel, Mrs. Ijeoma Mike-Ajanwachukwu hailed the judgment .
She said the judgement would serve as a deterrent to others who have been commiting such heinous crimes in the society.
