A respected elder statesman and community leader in Abia State, Mazi Iheanyi Inyamah, has thrown his weight behind Senator Orji Uzor Kalu’s return to the Senate, insisting that Abia North deserves continuity in tested leadership.
Speaking on Senator Kalu’s performance on Sunday, August 24, 2025, Mazi Inyamah stressed that experience and maturity remain critical in the affairs of the National Assembly.
According to him, “Senate business is not for children. It is for people who understand leadership, governance, and national responsibility. Dr Orji Uzor Kalu has done wonderfully well, and we are proud to have him represent us.”

**Inyamah outlined Kalu’s proven record of performance:**
“Since his election to represent Abia North, Senator Kalu has attracted a wide range of development projects to the district, cutting across infrastructure, education, healthcare, and youth empowerment. Communities have benefitted from road construction, school renovations, medical outreaches, and the provision of learning materials.”
According to the elder statesman, observers have attested to these interventions, which they said have bridged the gap between the federal government and the people of Abia North, giving constituents a renewed sense of belonging.
**Experience that counts:**
Highlighting Kalu’s background as a two-term senator, former governor, and seasoned entrepreneur, Mazi Inyamah argued that his wealth of experience sets him apart in Nigeria’s political landscape.
“In times like these, we cannot afford to gamble with inexperienced leadership,” he said. “We need someone who can speak and be heard, someone who understands the game and knows how to win for the people. That person is Dr Orji Uzor Kalu.”
Kalu, who has sponsored several bills and motions of national importance, is credited with balancing his national legislative role with a strong grassroots presence in Abia North.
**He called for continuity:**
“As the 2027 elections approach, pressure is mounting from stakeholders and grassroots supporters for Senator Kalu to seek another term. Supporters argue that his re-election would guarantee continuity of development and representation that delivers tangible results.
“Abia North deserves the best,” Mazi Inyamah concluded. “With Dr Orji Uzor Kalu, we already have it.”
