Kylian Mbappe has returned to Real Madrid following an injury sustained during France’s 3-0 win over Azerbaijan in the World Cup qualifiers.
The 26-year-old was withdrawn in the 83rd after clutching his ankle and replaced by Florian Thauvin.
He will miss France’s trip to Iceland.
Coach Didier Deschamps confirmed that the former PSG striker received another blow to the same ankle where he was previously hurt.
Mbappe returned immediately to Real Madrid, where initial tests carried out on him are positive and do not indicate a serious injury, Marca reports.
The Spanish giants face Getafe in La Liga next weekend before a date with Juventus in the UCL mid-week.
