From Fred Ezeh, Abuja

About 40 student-innovators from different states in the South East have benefited from the N4 million largesse provided by the Humanitarian Achievement and Outreach Foundation.

The disbursement was made at the South East Students Entrepreneurship and Innovation (SESEI) conference 2025 held at Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, which was attended by more than 600 student-innovators

Convened by Mr. Emmanuel Anabueze, founder of the Humanitarian Achievement and Outreach Foundation, the conference brought together student entrepreneurs, startup founders, industry experts, and development partners for a day that combined inspiration, learning, and practical support.

In a statement, the Foundation noted that each beneficiary received N100,000 to scale up their ventures, emphasizing that the intervention was only just beginning, and that there are plans to unlock even greater access to funding, mentorship, and resources for students across the region.

Anabueze, in his address, described SESEI as a major platform to identify, empower, and elevate a new generation of change makers. “We believe in investing not just in ideas, but in the young minds behind them. This is about unlocking potential and fueling transformation from the ground up,” he said.

A speaker, Orjinta Nnaemeka Orji, urged students to embrace Artificial Intelligence (AI) and other emerging technologies as critical tools for building future-proof enterprises.

An entrepreneur, Arnold Ekweoba, encouraged attendees to lead with values and build businesses that could leave a lasting impact.

The conference featured insightful keynote presentations from renowned professionals across sectors. Dr. Sammy Adrian Ajufo, spoke about the power of media in shaping brand identity and driving market positioning for startups, while Mrs. Rosemary Ezeani, an entrepreneur and director of the Oluebube Charity Foundation, inspired students to build businesses rooted in vision, value, and community service.

Chukwuemeka, a final-year student and grant recipient, said the event gave him the clarity and confidence to transform his idea into a viable business.

Another attendee, Amaka, said she had never seen a student-targeted programme executed on such a large scale, describing the experience as “hopeful and empowering.”
