Nasarawa APC suffers setback as ex-Karu LG chair resigns

From Abel Leonard, Lafia

A former Chairman of Karu Local Government Council in Nasarawa State, Hon. Akala Samuel Gajere, has resigned from his membership in the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Gajere, in a letter dated August 22, 2025, and addressed to the chairman of APC Panda/Kare Ward in Karu Local Government Area, said his decision takes effect immediately.

“I write to formally tender my membership resignation from the All Progressives Congress (APC), effective immediately,” he stated.

While appreciating the APC for the opportunity given to him to serve in different capacities, the former council boss urged the leadership of the party to strengthen its internal democracy in order to give all members a sense of belonging.

“While I wish to express my sincere appreciation to the party for giving me the platform to serve in various capacities, I enjoin the leadership of the party to strive to strengthen the party’s internal democratic mechanism so as to give all its members some sense of belonging,” Gajere said.

He further prayed for the success of the party’s future endeavours, adding, “May God continue to bless our collective efforts.”

Gajere, popularly known as Ubandoman Uke, is a grassroots politician and chieftain of the APC in Karu LGA. His next political move is yet to be officially disclosed.
