The Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) will debut a new enlightenment campaign on Saturday, August 2, 2025, aimed at educating air travellers and the general public about its history, roles and activities.
The 10-minute campaign, powered by Penguin Media Limited, will air weekly as part of the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria’s (FRCN) popular Radio Link programme between 9:05 a.m. and 9:15 a.m.
Mr. Chris Aligbe, Chief Executive Officer of Penguin Media Limited, said the programme would be highly informational and serve as a platform to address common complaints from air travellers while also educating them about their rights and obligations.
“The campaign will give air travellers and the larger public an understanding of the roles and activities of the sole civil aviation regulator. It will also address some of the complaints of the air travelling public and educate them on their rights and obligations as air travellers,” Aligbe said.
The NCAA, which was established in 1999, gained autonomy in 2006 after former President Olusegun Obasanjo signed the Civil Aviation Bill 2006 into law.
The campaign is part of ongoing efforts by the NCAA, led by Director-General Captain Chris Najoma, to deepen public understanding of its operations and enhance confidence in Nigeria’s aviation sector.
