NEMA Welcomes Over 200 Stranded Nigerians Returning from Libya

The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) has received over 200 Nigerians who returned from Libya. This operation aims to assist citizens facing hardships abroad, especially in conflict zones.

The returnees arrived at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos, where NEMA officials and other agencies greeted them. Many had embarked on dangerous journeys in search of better opportunities but encountered exploitation and abuse.

Upon arrival, NEMA conducted medical checks and provided essential support, including food, clothing, and counseling. Officials emphasized their commitment to ensuring the welfare of these individuals as they reintegrate into society.

This repatriation effort highlights the government’s role in protecting citizens abroad and offering assistance upon their return. NEMA collaborates with international organizations and local NGOs to support returnees and help them rebuild their lives.

As these individuals begin to reintegrate, NEMA reassures them of its support and encourages them to pursue opportunities for a brighter future in Nigeria.
