Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, Dr. Olajumoke Oduwole, on Monday called on Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) to prioritise patronage of locally manufactured products from the National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI).
According to her, the call became necessary in line with President Bola Tinubu’s Nigeria First policy.
Speaking during her visit to NASENI’s facilities in Abuja on Monday, Oduwole said the agency’s innovations and manufacturing capacity have positioned it as a strategic driver of industrial growth, non-oil exports, and job creation.

“Today, I have seen not just plans, but 100 percent made-in-Nigeria manufacturing world-class products ready for the market.
“This is what Nigeria First means: choosing our own innovations first, strengthening our economy, and exporting our excellence to Africa and beyond,” she said.
The minister urged MDAs to lead by example by sourcing equipment, technology solutions, and industrial products from NASENI, noting that this would stimulate demand for local manufacturing and inspire private sector confidence.
Highlighting NASENI’s unique approach of moving innovations from ideas to prototypes and market-ready products, Oduwole cited what she saw a factory producing diagnostic kits at jet speed as proof of the agency’s readiness to meet large-scale needs.
She assured that the Federal Government is backing NASENI and other manufacturers with enabling policies, infrastructure, and ease-of-doing-business reforms to attract investment and enhance competitiveness.
“By patronising NASENI, we are not only saving foreign exchange, but also building an industrial base that can compete under the African Continental Free Trade Area.
“This is a win for government, a win for industry, and a win for Nigeria,” Oduwole stated.
The minister pledged her ministry’s continued collaboration with NASENI to accelerate productivity and ensure Nigerian products reach global markets.
Executive Vice Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI) Khalil Suleiman Halilu, said he has been working hard to deliver a NASENI the country could be proud of.
According to him, with his team and the support from the federal government, the agency has been able to translate vision into reality.
