In an effort to improve its domestic drone technology capabilities, the Federal Government of Nigeria met with officials of Loong UAV, a global leader in tactical drone solutions with headquarters in China, on Monday.
The Nigerian group was led by Dr. Joseph Tegbe, Director-General of the Nigeria-China Strategic Partnership, who stated that the partnership with Loong UAV intends to enhance Nigeria’s drone technology capabilities and investigate wider cooperation prospects.
Tegbe stated, “It is anticipated that the partnership with Loong UAV will strengthen Nigeria’s indigenous drone technology skills, enabling access to necessary services and goods in isolated or challenging-to-reach areas.
“This creative use of drones could greatly improve Nigeria’s logistical capabilities, opening up new avenues for economic development and growth.”
He further emphasized that the collaboration would help Nigeria become a major participant in Africa’s industrialization while also promoting economic growth and development.
Tegbe continued, “All things considered, these agreements and investments show the NCSP’s commitment to advancing Nigeria’s socioeconomic transformation through targeted Chinese investments.”
Tegbe also emphasized other joint initiatives with the Chinese government and businesses, such as boosting healthcare delivery, enhancing smart, high-quality education, modernizing communications technology, fortifying security infrastructure, and digitizing important government buildings.
Additionally, he stated plans to improve and renovate a few teaching hospitals in Nigeria.
Tegbe went on to discuss a deal that the NCSP had with Chilwee Group, a well-known Chinese producer of cutting-edge batteries and power storage systems. This collaboration seeks to lower carbon emissions, advance renewable energy, and strengthen Nigeria’s energy security.
“The Chilwee Group has pledged to invest in Nigeria in a variety of ways, including sales, production, and possibly raw material mining for the value chain of power storage,” he stated.
Recent agreements and investments in the energy, technology, and manufacturing sectors are anticipated to propel Nigeria’s socioeconomic change, and the Nigeria-China Strategic Partnership is still strengthening bilateral ties.
