NSCDC CG commends philanthropist for donating new office

Commandant General of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corp, Dr Ahmed Abubakar Audi has commended Chief Obioma Success Akagburuoye for building and donating a new ultramodern office for the use of the corps in Ogbor Uvuru in Aboh Mbaise Council Area of Imo State.

Audi, who expressed the gratitude of the corps for the good gesture called on others with the means to emulate Chief Akagburuonye, stressing that security is everybody’s business as the government cannot do it alone.

The NSCDC chief, who was represented at the event by Mr Nnamdi Nwanneukwu, Assistant Commandant General in charge of Zone 13, also commended the state governor, Senator Hope Uzodimma for his unrelenting effort in ensuring that the state is secured by providing logistics to all the security agencies in the state.

“I want to express our gratitude to Chief Obioma Success Akagburuoye for his generosity in using his personal resources to build a befitting office for the Corps. This is the kind of partnership we are talking about. Security is the cusiness of every one as the government cannot do it alone. I also commend Governor Hope Uzodimma for his unrelenting effort to ensure that the state is secured by providing logistics to all the security agencies in the state.

“We thank the donor and I want to tell him that he has done noble, and that we have the capacity to maintain this new office. We also call on others with the means to emulate Chief Akagburuonye to do likewise. As I said earlier, security is everyone’s business. This unit has been approved as an Area Command Office for the three local government councils of Mbaise,” he stated.

 Speaking earlier, the State Commandant, Basil Igwebueze called on the rich and public-spirited individuals to partner with the security agencies to secure the state. He added that for the security of lives and property to be effective, everyone must be involved.

His words: “Those who have the resources like Barrister Success Obioma should assist the government to provide logistics to security agencies for optimal result. Others should avail security agencies of actionable intelligence to work with. The Corps like all security agencies is as proactive as it is reactive and enabled by the assistance of kindhearted individuals.

“The rich and public-spirited individuals and unions should support the laudable security strategies emplaced by the federal government and state government, especially by Governor Hope Uzodimma to restore the peace and security in the state.”

Chief Success Akagburuonye, who is the National President of Hope Rising For Imolites, disclosed that the project was as a result of the insecurity that is ravaging the communities in the state and the need to complement the efforts of the state government.

He said that once he got the approval of the Commandant General of the Corps and the State Commandant he commenced with the project.

Chief Akagburuonye said he will continue to support the activities of the Corps and urged officers of the Corps to always discharge their duties professionally.

He also appealed to the Corps to consider qualified indigenes of Mbaise who apply for recruitment.
