Ogun by-election: NANS congratulates Elegbeji on victory

From Laide Raheem, Abeokuta

The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) has congratulated the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the winner of the by-election into the Remo Federal Constituency, Princess Adesola Ayoola Elegbeji, describing her victory as a victory for the people of Ikenne, Remo North, and Sagamu Local Government Areas of Ogun State.

The student body, in a statement signed by the National Vice President on Inter-Campus and Gender Affairs, Akinbodunse Sileola Felicia, on Sunday, added that the electoral victory of the newly elected federal lawmaker is an indication that her constituents love her, hence they voted massively for her.

Akinbodunse observed that voting Ayoola Elegbeji as a replacement for the late House of Representatives member, Hon. Adewunmi Onanuga, otherwise known as ‘Ijaya’, clearly showed that the people of the Remo Federal Constituency enjoyed the dividends of democracy and qualitative representation by the APC lawmaker.

While expressing optimism that Ayoola Elegbeji will continue on the solid foundation laid by the late federal lawmaker, the NANS national leader added that the newly elected lawmaker, as a woman of astuteness and humane disposition, will perform excellently to surpass the records of the late Onanuga.

Akinbodunse, however, urged the lawmaker to deliver on her electoral promises and key into the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as well as the ISEYA Agenda of Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State.

While further calling Ayoola Elegbeji to be a harbinger of infrastructural development and socio-economic growth to the Remo Federal Constituency, particularly the student community, the NANS National Vice President assured her of continued support from students in her constituency and beyond.
