Our correspondent reports that the declaration was met with jubilation and royal blessings from the traditional councils of Apa and Agatu LGAs where Dr Olofu received the honorific chieftaincy title of “Ojimeli K’APA” from the Odejo K’Apa, Chief John Antenyi.
The monarch invoked the ancestral spirit (Alekwu) of Apa and the Almighty God to lead Dr Olofu to victory, saying, “Tabeje, tabeje, tabeje. All my predecessors will fight for you to bring home victory. And, the Almighty God will lead you to victory.”
The Ada’Agatu, Dr Godwin Onah, on his part also bestowed his blessings on Olofu, urging all Agatu sons and daughters to support his senatorial quest.
“We thank God that we now have somebody who has volunteered to gun for the position, and it is incumbent on us to support him stoutly,” he declared.
