The Ooni of Ife, His Imperial Majesty, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, CFR, Ogoga of Ikere, Oba Adejimi Adu Alagbado, alongside legal luminary Chief Wole Olanipekun (SAN), maritime industry leader Chief Isaac Jolapamo, and several other distinguished Nigerians, have celebrated the diamond jubilee of prominent businessman and philanthropist, Otunba Sola Adewumi.
Adewunmi who celebrated is birthday on August 14, received separate tributes, from eminent personalities.

They praised Adewumi’s exceptional contributions to business, community development, and national growth.
Specifically, the Ooni of Ife described the celebrant as “a beacon of intellectual excellence, administrative brilliance, and patriotic resolve”.
He commended Adewumi’s leadership in the maritime and energy sectors, particularly as President of the Nigeria Shipowners Association (NISA) and Chairman of the Bunkers Traders Association of Nigeria.
“As a true son of Oduduwa, your life reflects diligence, integrity, humility, and dedication to the common good,” the Ooni said, praying for greater impact in the years ahead.
The Ogoga of Ikere Kingdom, His Royal Majesty, Oba Adejimi Adu Alagbado, also describe Otunba Sola Adewumi as a complete gentleman with great humility despite his towering achievements.
The royal father described how Otunba Adewumi is always willing to offer his support in matters that has to do with Ikere anytime he is called upon.
Chief Wole Olanipekun, CFR, SAN, Asiwaju of Ikere Kingdom, hailed Adewumi’s philanthropic spirit and commitment to the development of Ikere.
He highlighted his role in financing major community projects, including the recapitalization of Ikere Microfinance Bank, the construction of a palace administrative block, sponsorship of the Odun Oba Festival, and the building of medical chalets at the State Specialist Hospital, Ikere.
“You have never blinked or disappointed whenever called upon to serve your people,” Olanipekun said, commending Adewumi’s business success as founder of the Inspiration Hotel, one of Ekiti State’s leading hospitality brands.
Chief Isaac Jolapamo, a pioneer shipowner and maritime industry leader, recounted his decades-long relationship with Adewumi, from his early banking career to becoming one of the best-trained professionals in shipping and oil trading.
He praised Adewumi’s loyalty, honesty, and industry leadership, noting his instrumental role in expanding Nigeria’s maritime influence across West and Central Africa.
“Your leadership in NISA and the Bunkers Traders Association has given the industry visibility and stability. We can all go to sleep with our eyes closed knowing you are at the helm,” Jolapamo said.
Also paying glowing tribute, Oluwaseyi Simisola Ogunko, mnipr, Chairman of the Board at Centre for Environmental Sustainability and Development Awareness (CESDA) expressed deep admiration for Adewumi’s influence and legacy.
“It is with great joy and gratitude to God that I celebrate you on the occasion of your 60th birthday—six decades of grace, impact, and purpose. I am thankful that God has kept you, shaped you, and continued to elevate you into the remarkable man that many of us in the younger generation are proud to be associated with,” Oluwaseyi said.
He lauded his creativity, innovation, and business acumen, particularly in the oil and gas, maritime, and hospitality sectors, describing Inspiration Hotels and Suites in Ikere as a testament to his foresight and excellence.
“Your resilience and dedication have seen you rise from humble beginnings to become the Chairman and CEO of Equatorial Energy Limited, and a Director of JS Shipping Limited, leading a multibillion-naira enterprise with integrity and grace. I celebrate you as a role model, father figure, and inspiration,” He added, praying for long life, good health, and continued relevance for the celebrant.
Other eminent personalities includes Professor Abayomi Fashina; The Vice Chancellor of the Federal University Oye-Ekiti, The General Overseer of Abundant Life Gospel Church, Reverend Janel Onaolapo and several others. They all described Otunba Adewumi as a man of excellence that deserves the honour and recognition.
