Osun Govt committed to development of technical and vocational education – Adesina

Osun State government has reiterated its commitment to the development of technical and vocational education, expressing its readiness to partner with other development agencies to develop it.

This is even as the state government promised to embrace proposals aimed at developing technical and vocational education in the state.

Special Adviser to the Governor on Technical and Vocational Education, Hon Dapo Ademola Adesina who spoke at the opening of a workshop organized for selected teachers drawn from the Government Technical Colleges in the state and officials of the Ministry of Education expressed government’s determination to ensure development of technical education

The workshop was organized by the IHS Nigeria Limited in partnership with Osun State Board for Technical and Vocational Education with the aim of training teachers to enhance their capacity in technical and vocational education.

The Special Adviser who hailed the commitment of Governor Ademola Adeleke to Vocational and technical education in the state, urged teachers to key into the vision of the governor to bring about positive changes in the education sector.

He disclosed that the administration of Governor Ademola Adeleke will continue to empower technical and vocational education through capacity training and human capital development among others.

The Director of IHS Nigeria while speaking at the event disclosed that the organization has concluded arrangements to provide reuters for secondary schools in the state, assuring that the organization will continue to collaborate with the state government to develop education especially the technical and vocational education.

She said the future of the state and the country at large will be built in the classroom, hence the need to make the classroom attractive for teaching and practical training.
