Radiance School celebrates whiz kids, graduates 39

The management of Radiance High School, Festac, Lagos, recently celebrated the graduation of 39 students’ just as it rewarded some whiz kids for their outstanding academic performance.

At the 22nd valedictory service and graduation, the 39 graduating students were showcased to their parents and guests and were charged to remain worthy ambassadors of the school.

The event attracted some alumni of the school and one of them, Brendan Okonkwo, a former Head Boy, was the resource guest. Others include Arnold Chime, a former Head Boy and a banker, Julia Iyebutemeh, a Social Prefect and CEO of NIOVO, Chigozie Okwara, founder of Grey and Cooper Solutions and Chilotam Ojukwu, a creative writer.

The overall best student for 2024/2025 academic session went to Okolo Onyinyechukwu and also best in science. She scored 307 in the 2025 Unified Matriculation Examination (UTME).

The 17-year-old female told Daily Sun that she intends to study Medicine and Surgery at University of Ibadan, adding, “I am prepared for university education.”

Okolo appreciated the school for the impact on her life and pledged to remain a worthy ambassador.

Other awardees are Nwaka Chioma, best in Art and English Language, Olarinde Joy, best in Food and Nutrition, Ozurumba Desmond, overall best in Commercial, Pius Kingsley, best in Robotics and Nwosu Chimbuchi, best in Catering.

In her speech, the Principal of Radiance High School, Mrs. B.C. Azoma-Chikwe, said through hard work and determination, the students achieved many academic feats after six years of their secondary education.

According to her, the students have been trained to face any challenges in the future and tasked them to win laurels in their new endeavours.

The principal appreciated the parents for investing in their wards’ secondary education and lauded the teachers for grooming the graduands to face the next task ahead.

She charged the graduating students to remain worthy ambassadors of the school and also used the occasion to thank the Proprietres, Mrs. E.I. Menkiti, for providing the platform to raise generations of godly children of academic excellence.

The Chairman, Board of Directors of the school, Dr. Chris Menkiti, said, a new doorway to the next stage of the graduating students lives has opened after the completion of six years of secondary school.

Menkiti charged them to remain focused on the next stage of their lives and advised the graduands to excel in their high education.

He acknowledged the contributions of academic and Non-academic staff for grooming the graduating students to attain their full potential.

A member of the Board of Directors, Engineer Chuba Menkiti, tasked the graduating students to stay disciplined, focused, honest, and hardworking as well as uphold the values that define Radiance School culture and stressed that the sky will be their limit.

He added: “With the rapid advancement of technology, be intentional in choosing careers that are not only promising but also future relevant.”

He advised them to choose a career that would enable them to make a positive impact on society and humanity in general.

Chairman of the event, Arnold Chime, said secondary education has prepared the graduands for the future and informed them that their 100 and 200 levels are critical for their foundation in the university.

The guest speaker, Brendan Okoronkwo, told the graduating students that at the university they have freedom and asked them to use it judiciously as well as embrace technology.
