Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, on Wednesday, July 2, commissioned the reconstructed Abaranje Road in Igando-Ikotun Local Council Development Area (LCDA), reaffirming his administration’s commitment to addressing the state’s deplorable road conditions.

Sanwo-Olu also inaugurated the Babajide Sanwo-Olu Road (formerly Old Dopemu Road) in Agege Local Government Area (LGA), emphasising that his government is fully aware of the infrastructural needs of Lagos residents and is dedicated to providing essential social infrastructure across the state.

“No part of Lagos will be neglected in terms of social infrastructure. We will ensure even development in every part of the state; we will leave no area untouched,” Sanwo-Olu stated.

The governor added, “You ask us for more infrastructure because you believe in our capacity. When our people speak, we listen. Our goal is to make life meaningful for every resident of Lagos and to reduce traffic congestion around Old Ipaja while boosting the local economy.”

During the event, Sanwo-Olu also campaigned for his party, the All Progressives Congress (APC), ahead of the local government elections scheduled for Saturday, July 12, urging voters to support APC candidates based on the party’s performance.

Earlier, the Onikotun of Ikotun, Oba Azeez Asiwaju, appealed to the governor to complete the remaining phases of the Abaranje Road project, describing the current reconstruction as phase one of a three-phase plan.

He also requested the establishment of public primary and secondary schools and a flyover at the Ikotun Road roundabout.

Responding, Sanwo-Olu assured the monarch that all requests would be addressed. He asked the community to provide land for the schools and confirmed that preliminary assessments for the flyover had been conducted, with construction set to begin soon.

The governor’s visit highlighted his administration’s ongoing efforts to improve infrastructure and living standards across Lagos State.
