Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, representing Kogi Central, has accused Senate President Godswill Akpabio and former Kogi State Governor Yahaya Bello of conspiring to have her assassinated in Kogi State. She claims that Akpabio instructed Bello to carry out the act, ensuring it appeared as though local residents were responsible.
Akpoti-Uduaghan reported this allegation to the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun.
At a gathering in Ihima, Okehi Local Government Area, Akpoti-Uduaghan detailed the events leading up to the alleged plot. She stated that Akpabio had directed Bello to initiate her recall process from the Senate, offering financial support for the endeavor. When Bello expressed concerns about potential public backlash, Akpabio allegedly suggested eliminating her in Kogi to mislead the public into blaming local residents.
Akpoti-Uduaghan emphasized that while she had previously kept this information private, she felt compelled to disclose it now for her safety.
In response to these serious allegations, Akpoti-Uduaghan has called for a thorough and transparent investigation to ensure justice and accountability.
