Seven Killed in Imo Auto Crash

On Sunday evening, a tragic accident occurred at Ulakwo along the Owerri-Aba Road in Imo State, resulting in the deaths of seven individuals. The incident involved a collision between three vehicles during a heavy downpour around 5 p.m., which led to poor visibility and slippery road conditions.

According to reports, two passenger buses traveling from Owerri to Aba collided, leading to the fatalities. Eyewitnesses suggest that impatience among drivers and the adverse weather conditions contributed to the crash.

The Imo State Police Command confirmed the incident, stating that officers were promptly deployed to the scene to manage traffic and oversee the removal of the deceased. The Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Henry Okoye, assured that the situation was under control and emphasized the importance of cautious driving, especially during adverse weather conditions.

This tragic event underscores the need for motorists to exercise patience and adhere to safety protocols, particularly during unfavorable weather, to prevent such devastating occurrences.
