He was buried at his residence in Daura, Katsina state, on Tuesday.

His death, however, has elicited mixed emotions, including both tributes and criticism on social media.

In a recent interview with BBC Hausa, Hana revealed that her father’s sense of humour was something she would miss the most.

Hana expressed gratitude to everyone for forgiving her father and stated that, while his death is painful, she accepts it as God’s decision.

“What I will miss most about him is his sense of humour. I look up to him as a part of me. I want to thank everyone who forgave my late father.

“On behalf of our family, we are grateful. We have nothing to say to them except thank God. He disciplined me to study, pray, and do things that made us happy.

“That is what I can say. But since Allah has decreed it, Alhamdulillah, I had the chance to be with him and read the Qur’an to him,” she said.
