President Bola Tinubu on Wednesday extended his deepest sympathies to President John Mahama, the government, and the people of Ghana following a fatal helicopter crash that claimed the lives of Ghana’s Defence Minister, Dr Edward Omane Boamah, Environment Minister, Ibrahim Murtala Muhammed, and six others.
In a statement released by the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, President Tinubu expressed, “The thoughts and prayers of the government and people of Nigeria are with our Ghanaian brothers and sisters during this time of profound national loss.”
He also urged the Ghanaian nation and the bereaved families to find solace in the sacrifice made by the deceased, emphasising that they “died in the line of patriotic service to the country.”
The Nigerian leader concluded his statement with a prayer for “the peaceful repose of the souls of the departed and strength for those left behind.”
