From Juliana Taiwo-Obalonye, Abuja

President Bola Tinubu has expressed deep condolences over the death of Federal Capital Territory’s first Head of Service, Grace Adayilo, who passed away in the early hours of Monday, September 1, 2025.

In a statement released by the State House, the President extended his sympathies to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory,
Nyesom Wike, as well as to Mrs. Adayilo’s children, family, and loved ones. He also acknowledged the grief of the management and staff of the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA).

Adayilo was a committed public servant who served as Education Secretary for the Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC) before being appointed by Minister Wike as the pioneer Head of Service of the FCTA. Her appointment followed President Tinubu’s approval of a refreshed civil service structure for the FCT.

In a statement issued by Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, President Tinubu prayed for the peaceful repose of Adayilo’s soul and wished strength to her family, friends, and colleagues during this difficult time.
