President Bola Tinubu’s Personal Assistant on Special Duties, Kamorudeen Yusuf, has awarded scholarship to Sodiq Anuoluwapo Shoyode, the 17-year-old genius, who scored 360 in the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).

Shoyode, from Ado-Odo Ota Local Government Area in Ogun State, had set a goal to score above 360 since his senior secondary school days and worked diligently towards it.

The scholarship, which covers Sodiq’s university education, and his fees for a five-year duration studying Mechanical Engineering at the University of Ibadan, have been fully paid.

The presidential aide further provided Sodiq with a laptop, accommodation and stipends for his daily upkeep, while he enrolled in a six-month ICT programme at GOMYCODE in Lagos.

Expressing gratitude, Sodiq said: “I’m thoroughly motivated by the kind support of Alhaji Kamorudeen Yusuf, and I promise to make him proud. I’ll ensure that I apply myself to studies fully and ensure that I come out with flying colours.”

Also commenting, the eldest Shoyode disclosed that their son’s good fortune has equally rubbed off on the rest of the family as Alhaji Yusuf extended his benevolence to them.

Yusuf refurbished and equipped his wife’s tailoring shop, where they not only make a living but also assist the rest of Sodiq’s siblings.

This gesture is part of Yusuf’s commitment to empowering the less privileged and supporting talented individuals.

In a similar vein, he awarded a N10 million scholarship to two students in April 2025, demonstrating his dedication to making a positive impact on the lives of young Nigerians.
