Tottenham Join Premier League Rivals in Lookman Transfer Battle

Tottenham Hotspur have entered the race to sign Nigerian forward Ademola Lookman from Atalanta in the upcoming summer transfer window. The North London club is set to compete with Premier League rivals Liverpool and Chelsea for the 27-year-old, who has been in outstanding form this season.

Spurs, who have closely monitored Lookman’s performances, are reportedly preparing an offer of around €45m (£37m) plus performance-based bonuses. They see him as an ideal addition to strengthen their attacking lineup, particularly with the expected departures of Richarlison and Timo Werner in the summer.

Premier League Interest Intensifies
Lookman has shone for Atalanta this season, scoring 17 goals and providing seven assists in 30 appearances across all competitions. His ability to play across the front three makes him an attractive prospect for several top English clubs.

Liverpool are also closely tracking Lookman as thye prepare for a potential squad overhaul, especially with uncertainties surrounding Mohamed Salah’s future. Reports indicate that the Reds have already taken concrete steps toward securing the Nigerian international as a possible replacement for the Egyptian winger.

Meanwhile, Chelsea are seeking attacking reinforcements to ease their reliance on Nicolas Jackson and Cole Palmer. With Atalanta preferring to sell Lookman outside of Italy, Premier League clubs may have an advantage in negotiations.

Lookman’s Future and Transfer Valuation
Despite Tottenham’s reported €45m offer, Atalanta could demand up to €65m (£53.8m) for their star forward. The club holds an option to extend his contract beyond its final 12 months, but Lookman’s relationship with manager Gian Piero Gasperini has reportedly become strained following a recent disagreement.

Lookman’s reputation skyrocketed after his historic hat-trick in Atalanta’s Europa League final win over Bayer Leverkusen and his instrumental role in leading Nigeria to the Africa Cup of Nations final. With Premier League clubs circling, the final decision will rest with Atalanta on whether to accept the offers or retain their key player.
