Tragedy as Oyo State Governor Loses elder sibling

Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, has experienced the loss of his older brother, Sunday Makinde.

In a statement released on Friday in Ibadan, the state capital, the Governor’s Special Adviser on Media, Sulaimon Olanrewaju, announced that the deceased passed away at the age of 65.

Olanrewaju shared that the news of the death was conveyed by a brother of the deceased, Olumuyiwa Makinde, who holds the title of Bada Olubadan of Ibadanland and is the Head of the Aigbofa Family of Oja’ba, Ibadan.

“It is with profound sorrow that I announce the departure of my elder brother, Engr Sunday Makinde, to eternal rest today, Friday, January 24, 2025.

“His unexpected passing took place in his residence in Ibadan at 3:20 AM today, Friday, January 24, 2025. “He is survived by his siblings, including the Executive Governor of Oyo State, His Excellency, Engr. Seyi Makinde, as well as children and grandchildren,” the statement cited Makinde as saying.
