Human rights lawyer, Deji Adeyanju has condemned the kidnapping of a new lawyer, Onyesom Peace Udoka, while returning home from her Call to Bar ceremony.
Reports indicated that Udoka was abducted alongside her sister around Lokoja, Kogi State, on Friday, September 26.
In a Facebook post on Saturday, Kogi-born Adeyanju described the incident as “truly terrifying”.
He called on security agencies to expedite action to secure the release of the victims.
Adeyanju said, “This incident is truly terrifying and requires urgent action from all the relevant security agencies.
“I call on the Nigeria Police Force, the Department of State Services, and other responsible agencies to act without delay to secure the release of Onyedom Peace Udoka and her sister from their abductors.
“I remain hopeful for their safety and safe return to their family.”
