The Bauchi State Police Command has arrested 20-year-old Safiyanu Dalhatu for allegedly beating his mother, Salama Abdullahi, to death with a pestle.
According to a statement by the Police Public Relations Officer, Ahmed Wakil, the incident occurred on February 24, 2025, in the Abujan Kwata area of Bauchi. The Peace and Security Committee members reported the case to the ‘A’ Divisional Police Headquarters.
Dalhatu allegedly attacked his 40-year-old mother, inflicting severe injuries, including fractures to both hands. The police are currently investigating the motive behind the attack. Further details on legal proceedings are expected as the investigation progresses.
